Would you like to help spread the word about Nuno and earn a little money at the same time? Ejunkie, our shopping cart service, is set up to allow you to do just that.
How does it work?
1. You sign up for Ejunkie's affiliate program (it's free) using the the link near the bottom of this page.
2. You copy the code (called a "hop link") provided by Ejunkie into your blog sidebar or the body of a post to create a link to our blog. This code will send your reader to our blog, where they can purchase Nuno from us. You can also use a product specific code provided by Ejunkie which will not redirect your reader, but allow them to purchase copies of Nuno directly from your blog by sending them straight to the shopping cart.
3. You can use any of the thumbnails or banners provided on this page, design your own or just use a text link. It's up to you. We're also happy to provide you with a custom button or banner compatible with the design of your blog.
4. Copies purchased either directly from your site or from customers redirected from your site to ours will earn you 15% of the cover price. Anyone reaching our blog from your site via the "hop link" will have a cookie stored for 6 months and if they buy something from our site any time during that period you will still earn 15% of the cover price.
5. You will be paid sometime during the 1st week of each month (for the sales occurring the previous month).
Please Note: If you use the "hop link" in a context where it is not already obvious (such as in the body of a post), you should somehow disclose that you are earning a percentage off of sales or specify that we are a "sponsor."
Still clear as mud? Maybe Ejunkie explains it better.
How and when you choose to promote Nuno is completely up to you. We are happy to provide you with individualized suggestions in keeping with the spirit and personality of your blog or website.
We are also happy to answer any questions about the affiliate program to the best of our ability (although please keep in mind that we are almost as new to it as you are).

Who can sign up to partner with Nuno?
You should like Nuno Magazine. That sounds pretty obvious, but yes, it's really important to us that you are promoting us because you appreciate what we do (not just for the potential of a little extra cash). If you haven't already read at least two issues, please request review copies and give them a once-over before you sign on the dotted line.
Your blog or website must be family and work friendly (we'll be the judge of that...we aren't going to get all twitterpated about the odd salty word or skimpily clad model but as Justice Stewart said...).
It must feature real content and be created by a real person or group of people (we'll be the judge of that, too..actually if you are bothering to read this we're betting you are real!).
It must use content ethically and follow generally accepted standards of blog etiquette (we think Kathreen explains it very well).
You don't need to be "prescreened." You can sign up right now. In the sad event that we feel that an affiliate site doesn't meet these standards, we will "unsign them up" and send them notification of why.

How to making button/banner/thumbnail images "live":
1. Download (or create) the image you want to use.
2. Upload the image to your sidebar. In blogger you will have opened a window that says "configure picture" and it will have a location that says "link." Leave the "configure picture" window open and go on to step 3.
3. Get the "hop link" code from ejunkie.
4. Select the portion of the line of code that falls between the "" marks (I've highlighted it in the example below) and paste just that part into the place for the "link" in the "configure picture" box.
5. Close the "configure picture" box and test the link by clicking on the new button in your sidebar. If it sends you to the Nuno Blog you've done everything right.
How to personalize the wording of the text in the "hop link":
1. In the "edit HTML" mode, paste the whole line of "hop link" code where ever you want it.
2. Now find the words "click here to visit Nuno Magazine" and select them. Like this:
3. Now delete the words you just selected and type in whatever it is you wanted to say. For example, if you wanted the text link to read "Read more about Painted Desert" your code should look like this:
How to use the "item specific" code:
The "item specific" code enables you to allow readers to purchase a copy of Nuno without going to the Nuno blog. This code will appear as a "buy now" button which sends your reader straight to the Ejunkie shopping cart.
Get the item specific code from Ejunkie. To show the button in the body of a blog post, go into the "edit HTML" mode and paste the code where ever you want the button to appear. To add the button to a blogger sidebar, go to layout and select "add a gadget", select "add HTML" and paste the code into that box.
We strongly suggest that you use a thumbnail image of the cover of the appropriate issue when using the shopping cart button. It's important that people are clear about what it is they are buying. We also suggest that as a caption under the thumbnail image of the cover you list the price and something to indicate that they are purchasing a download rather than a paper copy. We suggest something like "$5.00 PDF Download" or "$5.00 116 Page E-Magazine."
